Robert Thornton goes down a storm with Capital darts fans

Darts fans young and old had a day to remember when they took part in the Robert Thornton Exhibition at the Murrayfield Sports Bar.

Organised by the Edinburgh Darts Association, the event saw ‘The Thorn’ take to the oche for an afternoon of fun.

The banter was flying as fast as the arrows as the World Grand Prix winner entertained an appreciative crowd. The Ayrshire ace took on a host of challengers in single-leg matches, including precocious seven-year-old Shaun Taylor, whose one-liners had the PDC star in stitches!

“It was an absolutely brilliant day,” said Iain Lyon, of organisers EDA.

“The feedback afterwards was very positive. I’m sure we’ll be looking to organise another exhibition at some point in the future.”
