Rugby: Doig leads by example as Musselburgh march on
The East Lothian men travelled to Garnock with seven wins from seven under their belts, but the leaders really had to tough out the victory in this one.
The visitors to Ayrshire took the lead in the first half when centre Andrew Cook went over for a try with stand-off David O’Hagen converting.

The leaders started the second-half in the ascendency, but were finding it hard to close out the match and make the points safe. That was until winger Doig, later named man of the match, scored his two tries to make things more comfortable at 20-0. Doig and fellow winger James Murray caused problems all day, while Cook also continued his impressive season.
Murrayfield Wanderers claimed a fine win at Ellon to bounce back from last week’s loss to Hawick YM.
The Capital men travelled to the north east and won 26-15 and now sit in fourth place.
