Rugby: Dons have warning for Accies ahead of weekend clash

Edinburgh ACCIES have been warned they face another torrid afternoon when entertaining revitalised Aberdeen Grammar in the Scottish rugby premiership on Saturday.

With a month to go before the league splits the Dons are clinging to a place in the top eight after their biggest winning margin of the season, against Hawks, as they prepare to face Capital rivals coming off a heavy defeat at Stirling.

Dons coach Alex Duncan says: “We now need to consolidate our position in the next two games against Edinburgh Accies and Heriot’s.”

Aberdeen boast a dangerman in winger Erland Oag who, for the second week running, notched a try brace and has six overall this season.

Duncan added: “Erlend not only scored twice but was one of our best tacklers. He’s a real find.”

Others for whom the coach praised included scrum-half Morgan Ward and lock Ed Nimmons but skipper Murray Douglas is battling to recover from a head knock.
