Rugby: Forrester off to a stormer

Forrester’s new coaching duo of Graham Inglis and Billy Whitelaw got off to the perfect start when the team defeated Berwick 27-12 at home in their opening RBS East One match on Saturday.

Back-row Ross Davidson led the way with two tries in the Capital against the men from Scremerston.

Preston Lodge are the early leaders in the division after they thumped Hawick Linden 81-0 at the Pennypit. North Berwick won 23-16 at Trinity Accies, while Ross High also got a good 13-0 away win at Lismore. Portobello’s season started with a 37-17 loss away to Duns though.

In the new RBS East Two Dalkeith saw off Midlothian rivals Penicuik 85-0, while Dunbar also had a big home win, defeating Broughton 43-0.
