Fresh from taking his Scottish Schools athletics medal haul to 18 with gold in the under-19 relay and a silver in the 200m, it appears rugby has proved irresistible to Powderhall Sprint winner Ben Robbins.

The winger is among three George Watson’s teenagers to be offered an elite development contract with Edinburgh Rugby joining captain Ally Miller in the back row and Jake Kerr at hooker.

A total of seven players will be attached to Edinburgh in the latest draft with a further signing expected shortly.
