Peter Wright has since taken up the reins at Meggetland, but Aitchison has wasted no time in getting himself back involved in the sport. Before his three-year stint with Boroughmuir, he spent a couple of seasons with Murrayfield Wanderers and he is excited to be back there.

“Murrayfield Wanderers is a good club with a lot of good people at it who are trying to take them forward in the correct way and I am pleased to return,” Aitchison said.

“The first XV still have one league match to play this term and then we will build for life in BT East League One for 2016/17.”
