Co-Optimists rugby to take on Heriot’s

Invitational rugby team the Co-Optimists have announced they will play current BT Premiership championsHeriot’s to kick-off 2016.

In recent times the Co-Optimists, who are made up of players from clubs up and down the country, have taken on Edinburgh Accies in a match during the festive period.

However, that is not happening this time around and instead the match with Heriot’s, which was last played more than 30 years ago, has been revived and the two sides will meet at Goldenacre on Saturday, January 2 at 2pm.

Meanwhile, former Scottish Rugby president and Edinburgh Rugby coach, Ian Rankin, has joined the Co-Optimists committee along with Douglas Livingstone.
