Double sevens success for Watsonians
In the first round at Haddington, Watsonians beat Pigbarians 52-0 whilst, amongst the other teams to make it through to the quarter-final, were the hosts who defeated Lasswade 22-7.
In the last eight, ‘The Myresiders’ – a Watsonians second VII – lost out to Melrose 17-10 while Haddington defeated a President’s VII 33-5.

Hide AdWatsonians then eased past Musselburgh 48-0 and Boroughmuir Bears defeated Boroughmuir 24-15.
In the first semi-final, Haddington pushed Melrose close, but were edged out 17-10.
Watsonians saw off Boroughmuir Bears 21-5 to see them into the final. In that final, Watsonians beat Melrose 24-12.
Yesterday at Gala in the first Kings of the Sevens event, Edinburgh Accies defeated Peebles 24-7, but then lost to Gala in Pool One.

Hide AdIn Pool Three, Edinburgh Rugby defeated Watsonians 29-26 – Otulea Katoa leading the way with two tries – but then lost to Melrose. It meant Sonians’ defeat of Melrose put them in the last four.
Boroughmuir beat Kelso in Pool Four but lost to Glasgow Warriors. Jed-Forest defeated Gala in the first semi and then Watsonians saw off the Warriors 21-17.
Edinburgh Rugby then won the Bowl with a 26-17 win over Hawick before the main final.
Watsonians led 19-5 at half-time against Jed. They eventually came out on top 38-5 with Scott McKean running in a hat-trick of tries.
