North Berwick remain unbeaten in BT East Division One after an impressive 32-7 win over Linlithgow that sets up a mouth watering showdown this Saturday.
The East Lothian men’s bonus-point victory dented third-placed Linlithgow’s challenge and adds to the importance of this weekend’s home fixture with St Boswells – the division’s only other unbeaten side.
Meanwhile, Murrayfield Wanderers won 28-13 at Dalkeith, while Forrester were untroubled in beating Hawick Linden 50-6. The day’s tightest finish was in the Borders where a Ross Charlton penalty and a try by Greig Patrizio gave Dunbar an 8-6 half-time lead over Hawick Harlequins. The hosts had the better of the second period and despite a late surge from Dunbar that produced tries for Sandy Thomson and John Peebles, Hawick held on to claim the win 21-20.
In Division Two, Penicuik continued their unbeaten run with a 38-8 win over Edinburgh Northern and Trinity Accies moved up to second with a 41-20 success at Portobello, combined with a 15-0 defeat for Ross High at Broughton. Elsewhere, Kenny Danfield bagged all the points for Leith Accies in a 13-10 win at Inverleith.
In Division Three, Lismore eased past Queensferry 63-0.
