Edinburgh Rugby learn PRO14 fixtures for 2018-19 campaign

Edinburgh head coach Richard Cockerill knows their opening Guinness PRO14 clash away in Wales to the Ospreys on August 31 will be tough, but he believes his side can go there and win.

The fixtures for the league campaign have been released – revealing that the Capital men will be on the road for the first two rounds, the trip to the Liberty Stadium followed by Ulster at the Kingspan seven days later. Supporters will be able to enjoy the first home match back at BT Murrayfield against Connacht on September 14.

The first month ends with a trip to reigning champions Leinster and a home clash with Benneton. Edinburgh finished third in Conference B last term with the Ospreys fifth in Conference A.

Of the opening weekend meeting Cockerill said: “Ospreys will be a different side again, with new coaching staff and players and any away game is going to be tough, but we will go there with the mindset to win.”

Edinburgh do not have to travel to South Africa until early in the new year, taking on the Southern Kings on January 26. The first match of three against Glasgow Warriors is due to take place at home on Saturday, December 22.
