Edinburgh Rugby will start their European Challenge Cup campaign away from home, with London Irish first on the agenda for Richard Cockerill’s men.
The tie, on Saturday, October 14 (3pm), will be the third time the sides have met at the Madejski Stadium in four seasons, with Edinburgh losing the most recent clash, having posted a quarter-final win en route to the final of the 2015 tournament.
Edinburgh will also be away in the second round the following Saturday, with a journey into the unknown to face Russian outfit Krasny Yar, who qualified for the competition by finishing runners-up in the Continental Shield.
Cockerill’s side will then welcome London Irish to Myreside on Saturday, December 9 (7.35pm) and will play the home fixture with Krasny Yar on Friday, December 15 (7.35pm).
And the Pool 5 matches will conclude with back-to-back games against the defending champions Stade Francais, who will visit the Capital on the second weekend in January, with Paris the venue for the return a week later (dates to be confirmed).
The quarter-finals take place at the end of March, with the semi-finals the following month, before the competition concludes on Friday, May 11 with the final at Bilbao’s San Mames Stadium.
