Out-of-contract winger Tim Visser has been linked with a move away from Edinburgh Rugby to English Premiership side Wasps.
It has emerged that the Dutch-born 27-year-old, who has scored seven tries in 15 appearances after qualifying for Scotland on residency, has yet to sign a new deal.
But while warning lights may be flashing in the Edinburgh camp, assistant coach Stevie Scott is playing it cool.
“It is professional sport and in any team, any sport, players performing well will be looked at,” said Scott. “Vis is a good rugby player and he can score tries. The game is to score more points than the opposition and he will be a player amongst others who will be getting looked at.”
The link with Wasps in an English newspaper also brackets Visser along with All Blacks winger Frank Halai.
Edinburgh head coach Alan Solomons has announced the acquisition of Tongan cap Will Helu, from Wasps, while he has been at pains to talk up the long term prospects of other Edinburgh wingers, notably Damian Hoyland, who could be seen as an eventual replacement for Visser.
