Mikey Walker scored two tries as Linlithgow progressed to the last four of the BT Edinburgh Shield on Saturday.
The West Lothian outfit travelled to Broughton for a potentially tricky tie, but they were on form to come out on top 40-15.
As well as Walker’s double, Calum McKeown, Euan Richardson, Stuart Cunningham and Euan Mochrie all crossed for tries at Wardie. The other 10 points for Linlithgow came by five conversions by Jack Frame.
Grant Craig led the way with 12 points for North Berwick as they defeated Dunbar in the same event. Matches between these two East Lothian sides are always keenly fought and this one was certainly no different.
In the end North Berwick continued their fine form in all competitions so far this term by winning 17-12. Craig kicked three penalties and a drop goal while Murray West scored the only try for the victors.
Murrayfield Wanderers and Penicuik are the sides joining Linlithgow and North Berwick in the semis. Wandies went came away from Arboretum with a 29-11 win over Inverleith while Penicuik had to really dig in to come out on top 23-21 at Forrester and maintain their unbeaten run this season.
Meanwhile, RDVC were defeated 28-27 by Earlston in BT East Three.
The loss means that RDVC have won three and lost three to date and although they are second in the table they are already 14 points behind Saturday’s opponents who have won six out of six.
