Tim Visser is set to become the next Scottish rugby internationalist to move south with London-based Harlequins leading the chase for the out-of-contract Edinburgh winger.
Visser, who scored his sixth league try of the season in yesterday’s defeat at Cardiff, said at the start of the RBS Six Nations Championship that he expected to have his future settled within a few weeks.
Initially, Wasps were linked with the 17-times capped ace but reports in the English media suggest Harlequins are now front runners.
By signing Tongan Will Helu and being linked with giant Fijian Taqele Naiyaravaro Edinburgh have sent out a message they are not prepared to break the bank to retain Visser. Dropped by Scotland for Saturday’s defeat by Italy, 27-year-old Visser has previous experience of the English Premiership with Newcastle.
Last month, Edinburgh announced Scotland stand off Tom Heathcote would be moving to Worcester.
