Jade Te Rure, the Kiwi stand-off brought to Edinburgh “on trial” last month could be set to debut in tomorrow’s visit to Connacht in the Guinness Pro 12.
Manawatu province’s Te Rure, who is Scottish qualified, is listed on the bench having turned out previously for Edinburgh A against Glasgow.
He replaces Scotland cap Tom Heathcote, who is not included and joins the club’s list of injured players.
Moving up from the bench, Willem Nel replaces John Andress at tighthead prop while Roddy Grant moves to blindside flanker with Hamish Watson – who returned to action after injury, from the bench last Friday – coming into the starting team on the openside in place of captain Mike Coman, who is being rested. Ross Ford will captain the side.
There are no changes to the starting back line.
Head coach Alan Solomons said: “We have taken note of Connacht’s victory over Munster and their unbeaten home record and appreciate that we will have to be at our best to come away with the spoils.”
