Jade Te Rure will be hoping to demonstrate the goal-kicking skills that saw him hailed a record breaker in his native New Zealand when debuting for Edinburgh Rugby in a reserve clash with Glasgow on Murrayfield back pitches tonight (7.30pm).
The stand off is included along with fellow Kiwi Hugh Blake and has a lot to live up to after his 15 from 16 kicking ratio helped Manawatu to domestic success in New Zealand this season.
Tonight’s match, which is free entry for spectators, also sees Stuart McInally listed at hooker as the former Scotland back row replacement nears the completion of his switch to a new position while Damien Hoyland gets a run on the wing after scoring four tries for the Scotland sevens team in South Africa last week.
Also back in action will be stand off Carl Bezuidenhout, who damaged knee ligaments playing for Boroughmuir last September. Among the club contingent called up to the bench are Heriot’s pair Struan Cessford and Jason Hill, while winger Grant McConnell scored a winning try for Boroughmuir at Currie on Saturday in the Premiership.
Steve Scott will coach Edinburgh A.
