The home side Leith also got their hands on some silverware by lifting the Plate with a final victory over Linlithgow.

Meanwhile, the ISC Red Kites were the winners of the Musselburgh Sevens in East Lothian.

And on the Kings of the Sevens circuit in the Borders, Watsonians made sure the overall title race will go to the last tournament after performing well at the Selkirk Sevens.

The Myreside men defeated Selkirk A, Loughborough and circuit leaders Jed-Forest before losing out to Melrose in the final.

It means that Watsonians are five points behind Jed with just the Jed event left on Saturday.
