Lyon winger Mosese Ratuvou will miss Saturday’s European Challenge Cup tie at home to Edinburgh after he was last night suspended for one match by the French League’s disciplinary committee.
The Fijian received the ban for his part in an incident during the Top 14 match against Stade Francais on January 2. Stade Francais stand off Morne Steyn was red carded for kicking Ratuvou, who in turn was cited after the match for an overly-aggressive attitude.
Each player was suspended for one game. Steyn had already missed his club’s league encounter with Castres last weekend, but Ratuvou will serve his suspension this weekend, ruling him out of Saturday’s encounter.
Lyon have a regular support of around 10,000 and ticket sales so far suggest the match will attract a crowd close to that level. The club will be looking to make Edinburgh supporters welcome, with the restaurant at the ground offering a special Scottish menu for the occasion.
