Stewart’s MELVILLE will start the season with a minute’s silence in memory of ex-player Steven Sims, who died in May, before launching their National League campaign against Hawick at Inverleith with Mike Crawley, Struan Allan and Adrian Duncan returned to the fold and Gregor Porteous and Chris Damsteeg making debuts.

Young Edinburgh hooker George Turner starts for Stew/Mel. As a curtain raiser Stew/Mel 2nds face Glasgow Hawks counterparts at 1pm.

Watsonians visit Glasgow Hawks with Ben Di Rollo captaining the side in the absence of Mark Rennie, while Rory Steele, Scott McKean, Dan Marinello, Jonny Duthie and Andrew Joseph debut.

On the bench are prop Riaan Basson, who has arrived from South Africa, and hooker
Thomas Murray, who helped Dunfermline win the RBS Shield last season.

In Championship Division B Musselburgh and Lasswade are at home to, respectively, Peebles and Perthshire, while Murrayfield Wanderers head for Morgan Academy FP.
