JASON WHITE is looking forward to helping develop local rugby talent after he was confirmed as the new head coach of BT East League One outfit North Berwick.
The 37-year-old former Scotland skipper will be in charge of the East Lothian club along with another ex-Scotland internationalist, Lindsay Renwick. They have replaced Rhodri Thomas and Quinton Caulfield who have moved on to Haddington.
Having someone involved in the East leagues who earned 77 caps for his country in the back-row and toured with the British & Irish Lions is a massive coup.
White said: “I had two fantastic seasons coaching at Watsonians but, with a young family, the time travelling to training and games was a consideration in getting involved with North Berwick. As I am living locally, it is a chance to get involved in the local community. The club has a great reputation for developing young talent and from what I have seen there are plenty more players with the ability to continue the attacking rugby that North Berwick are known for.”
