PRESTON LODGE kept themselves at the front of the pack in RBS East Regional League Division One with 41-12 success over Portobello.

Duns shifted themselves into the slipstream of the league leaders with a decisive 41-18 home victory over North Berwick.

Trinity Academicals, meanwhile, came out on top in their tense Edinburgh derby against Forrester at Bangholm. They led 11-9 with two minutes to go, thanks to a try from Jamie Watts and a drop-goal and penalty from Kevin Watters. Then Forrester grabbed the lead through a fourth penalty from Neil Robertson – but the black and golds stole glory with a last minute three-pointer from Watters.

Hawick Linden scratched a 19-16 home win over Ross High.

In East Division Two, Broughton had to call off their game against Hawick Harlequins due to a lack of front row cover. They are confident of being back close to full strength next week and are hopeful that the match can be re-arranged then – but this is at the mercy of the league organisers.

Moray House remain winless at the foot of the table after losing 39-17 at Penicuik, while the top two teams in the league kept their maximum points totals intact, with Dalkeith hammering Earlston 66-12, and Dunbar 48-5 victors at Gala YM.

In Division Three, Edinburgh Nortehrn hammered Queensferry 52-0, Liberton lost 24-12 to St Boswell, Inverleith scraped past 18-17 at Leith and Walkerburn defeated Dick Vet 13-3.
