Haddington defeated the hosts in the final to lift the Musselburgh Sevens.

Preston Lodge topped group A at Stoneyhill ahead of Rodent Rugby and North Berwick, while Musselburgh edged out of group B thanks to scoring more points than Boroughmuir.

The Untouchables progressed from group C with Haddington impressive in topping group D.

Musselburgh outran Preston Lodge 28-5 in the first semi- final while Haddington had too much for the Untouchables.

In the final, Musselburgh took an early lead, but never looked to be in control. They did go 21-14 up, but their East Lothian rivals fought back to take the trophy 28-21.

Watsonians won one tournament and reached the last four in another on the Kings of the Sevens circuit at the weekend.

On Saturday, they won the Kelso Sevens beating the Vikings and Selkirk in their group and then defeating Hawick 24-7 in the semi before a superb 33-28 final win over Jed-Forest.

Twenty-four hours later at Earlston, Watsonians saw off Edinburgh Accies and Heriot’s before losing to Hawick in the final again.

Meanwhile, Lasswade won the Walkerburn Sevens on Saturday.
