There are eight Heriot’s players named today in the Scottish clubs’ international rugby squad who will play matches in the February against Ireland clubs’ and an English Counties select.
Adding to the Goldenacre connection will be coach Phil Smith, whose assistants include Jamie Parker, from Heriot’s.
Dates and venues for the two fixtures have still to be finalised.

Meanwhile, Blair Cowan, man-of-the-match from openside flanker when Scotland defeated Tonga on Saturday, today signed a contract extension that will keep him at London Irish until 2018.
