Stew-Mel to honour Steve Sims

Have your say

The memory of a young Stewart’s Melville rugby player, Steve Sims, who died 18 months ago from a rare blood disorder, will be honoured with a series of matches at the club’s Inverleith ground on Saturday.

Various generations will be represented as the day kicks off at 1pm with a match involving the junior Lions’ players. Matches between past captains’ teams representing the school and club will follow.

Teams will be playing in the colours of both the Steve Sims Cavaliers and the Pigbarians, whose work raising awareness of the Dreamz4u charity, which works to grant the wishes of sick and long term disabled children, will also be recognised.
