Scotland to take on Afghanistan in two ODIs

Scotland will take on Afghanistan in two cricket One Day Internationals in Edinburgh in July, it has been announced. The 50-over contests will take place at The Grange in Stockbridge on Monday, July 4 and Wednesday, July 6.

Afghanistan beat future winners West Indies in the recent World Twenty20 finals

Mazars Grange new boy Preston Mommsen is likely to lead Scotland in the matches.

Scotland head coach Grant Bradburn said: “Afghanistan have improved over the past year on the back of exposure to international cricket against full member nations.

“They fully deserve their current standing as one of the leading Associate nations, and we relish the chance to take them on at the Grange in July.

“Although we respect them as a quality team, we also know we have the skills to beat them again and we look forward to locking horns with them over the two match ODI series.”

Tickets will be available on the gate on both match days with play starting at 10.45am.
