The Scots have spent time in Sri Lanka and then played two warm-up games in the build-up to the 50-over-a-side event in Bangladesh.

Tomorrow they take on Namibia in Group A at the Sheikh Kamal International Cricket Stadium in Cox’s Bazar.

They will then play Bangladesh (Sunday) and South Africa (Tuesday) and spinner Aslam said: “The build-up has been going really well and everyone has been buzzing in training.

“We all know that the conditions here are different than we are used to, but we are confident of going out there and performing.”

Aslam’s Grange club mates Fin McCreath, Simon Whait and Cameron Sloman are in the squad of 15 along with Heriot’s Ryan Brown.
