Signing spree for Capitals

MIDLOTHIAN-based forward Jordan Steel and fellow ice hockey hit-man Ian Blake today signed contracts for Edinburgh Capitals, writes NIGEL DUNCAN.

Other signings included Ashley Calvert, defenceman Joel Gatushi and Fife netminder Craig Holland, who will be used as a back-up, with Kevin Forshall giving the Capitals a third option if required.

Scott Neil, Capitals’ general manager, said: “Jordan is a talented player who has developed his physique over the summer while Ian Blake made big strides towards the end of last season and his attitude and ambition will help his development this year.

“Ian and Joel performed above expectation last season and we will be looking for continued improvement this year.”
