Snooker: MacGillivray marches on in World Amateur in Bulgaria

Granton’s Craig MacGillivray is through to the last 64 of the World Amateur Championship in Sofia, Bulgaria, where he will meet fellow Scot Bobby Cruickshanks.

MacGillivray made it two wins out of three when he
defeated Alex Ursenbacher (Switzerland) 4-1.

However, he only scraped through in third position in his group after losing 4-2 in his
final group match to Vinnie Calabrese (Australia) despite breaks of 64 and 58 in the two frames he won. Perth player Cruickshanks qualified in second position in his group to comfortably qualify while
Glasgow duo Pat McKinney and Lance Little are both through to the last 32 of the Masters event, with McKinney topping his group with four wins out of four. Meanwhile, both Michael Leslie and Scott Donaldson are both in action today in the German Masters qualifying stages at the Sheffield Snooker Academy. Leslie plays Jamie Jones and Donaldson plays former World Championship finalist Nigel Bond.
