Snooker prizes to pocket

World champion John Higgins heads for the Capital this weekend as youngsters are invited to attend a snooker roadshow.

Higgins, pictured, will feature when The Paul Hunter Foundation – set up by the three-time Masters champion before his death from cancer in 2006 aged 27 – visits Shandon Leisure in Slateford Road from 3.00-5.00pm on Saturday.

Chris Lovell, of the Foundation, said: “The roadshows are all about fun and putting a smile on people’s faces using the game of snooker. There are opportunities to win prizes and even go home with a new Paul Hunter Foundation cue and case.

“Paul’s objective, when he and wife Lynsey set up the charity shortly before he passed away, was to provide free snooker for youngsters across the UK and Ireland. It’s our privilege to be able to do that in his name.”

Entrance on Saturday is free and everyone is welcome.
