Edinburgh’s Lee Mein won three out of four of his group stage matches to qualify for the last 64 of the European Under-21 Snooker Championship in Malta
After winning his opening two matches, Mein recovered from 2-1 behind to win the last two frames in a 3-2 victory over Yannick Trilllon (France), with a highest break of 58.
However, Mein was unable to make it four wins in a row when he lost to 3-0 to Poland’s Kamil Zubrzycki. Mein now faces Romania’s Mario Amza in the last 64.
The three other Scots in the event, Dylan Craig, Rhys Clark and Chris Totten, all qualified with Clark, taking top seed for the knockout phase after winning all of his matches.
