Capital snooker professionals Michael Leslie and Ross Muir were knocked out of 2015 Betfred World Snooker Championship qualifying losing 10-7 to Mark King and 10-8 to China’s Cao Yupeng respectively.
Leslie lost the opening two frames to King before fighting back with breaks of 101 and 59 to lead 3-2. However, King won three frames on the spin. Leslie fought back again to win three of the next four frames to level the match at 6-6. King then made breaks of 79 and 81 to lead 8-6 and, although Leslie pulled one back, the Englishman won the next with 94 before securing a 10-7 victory.
Musselburgh’s Muir trailed 4-1 and then 9-4 to Yupeng, before winning four frames in a row but the Chinese youngster held his nerve to make a break of 76 for a 10-8 victory and set up a clash with Scotland’s Anthony McGill in the next round.
