Local snooker stars clash in PMK Invitational

Capital snooker stars Michael Leslie and Craig MacGillivray will meet in the opening round of the PMK Invitational Pro-Am at Minnesota Fats Snooker Club in Glasgow today.

MacGillivray joins four more of the top amateur players in Scotland as they compete alongside 11 professionals bidding for title success this weekend.

The amateurs receive a 14-point start per frame in the opening best-of-seven contests. World championship quarter-finalist Anthony McGill, four-times world champion John Higgins and former world kingpin Graeme Dott are just three of the professionals in a high-quality line-up. The last-16 ties take place today with the tournament played to a finish tomorrow.

Last 16 (best of seven)

11am: Marcus Campbell v Scott Gillespie (+14); Michael Leslie v Craig MacGillivray (+14).

1pm: Stephen Maguire v Scott MacFarlane (+14); Graeme Dott v Ross Vallance (+14).

3pm: Anthony McGill v Fraser Patrick; John Higgins v Peter Lines.

5pm: Davie McLellan (+14) v Matthew Stevens; Andrew Higginson v Oliver Lines.
