European Masters Snooker bid was ended at the last-16 stage yesterday when he lost to 
Darren Morgan.

With Welshman Morgan, a former No.8 in the world, 2-0 ahead, the third frame proved pivotal as MacGillivray lost on a respotted black. The Granton player pulled a frame back but an 86 by Morgan in the fifth ended the contest.

Scottish interest ended as Rhys Clark (Stonehouse) lost 5-4 to Ireland’s Robert Murphy.
