MacGillivray tops group at World Snooker Masters

Craig MacGillivray is the last Scot standing at the IBSF World Snooker Masters Championships in Bangalore, India, with the Granton ace qualifying top of his group with a 100 per cent record.

MacGillivray was made to battle all the way before emerging a 3-2 winner over Ireland’s Stephen Walsh , the win meaning that MacGillivray secured one of the eight seeded places for the knockout stage. He was set to play Salim Ali Al Suwaidi (United Arab Emirates) in the last 32 today.

Fellow Edinburgh cueman Derek Dudgeon exited at the first knockout stage, losing 4-0 to South Africa’s Munier Cassim.
