Michael Leslie must defeat fellow-Scot Marcus Campbell today to secure a last 32 place at the Australian Open after winning his third round qualifier yesterday at The Capital Venue in Gloucester,

Leslie defeated England’s Sam Baird 5-3 after turning round a 3-1 deficit at the interval.

The Bonnyrigg cueman came back out in terrific form, making made breaks of 72 and 51 as he comfortably won the last four frames for victory.

Locarno’s Scott Donaldson is also through. He was in magnificent form, conceding conceded only 36 points in a 5-0 victory over England’s Robbie Williams, making breaks of 69, 121, 53 and 55 to defeat England’s Robbie Williams and will now meet Norway’s Kurt Maflin today.

Meanwhile, Edinburgh’s Robert Carlisle made a winning start at the European Championships in Sofia, with a 4-2 victory over Israel’s Maor Shalom 4-2, while Edinburgh’s Ross Vallance beat Mor Mezrhei, also 4-2.
