Bonnyrigg’s Michael Leslie today held his nerve to win back his place on World Snooker’s Professional Tour after edging out fellow Scot Eden Sharav in a tense deciding frame.

The 21-year-old lost his two-year status as a professional when he finished last season ranked 101st, well outside the top 64.

However, he has now salvaged his place after successfully reaching the semi-finals of Q School Event 2 at The Capital Venue in Gloucester.

In order to seize his last chance to win one of the two-year pro cards on offer for the new season, Leslie had to reach the last four, and he did so with a hard fought 4-3 win over Sharav, from Alloa, in the quarter-final.
