Craig MacGillivray produced a solid performance on his way to securing a place in the final of the East of Scotland Snooker Championship, defeating Ross Vallance 4-2 at the Edinburgh Corn Exchange.
MacGillivray started well, making breaks of 52 and 62 to win the opening two frames before three-times champion Vallance won the next two to level at the interval. MacGillivray, who has never won the title, then edged in front with a run of 82 before winning the sixth frame to secure victory.
Corstorphine’s Keith Chalmers will face John Williamson for the right to play MacGillivray in the final. Chalmers stunned 2014 champion Robert Carlisle 3-2 to book his place in the last four while Williamson defeated Derek Dudgeon.
