Scotland will play hosts Ireland in the quarter-finals of the World Team Masters Snooker Championship.

The team, which includes Granton’s Craig McGillivray and Stirling’s Jim Rushforth, will play the winner of Ireland (2) and Ireland (4) after being seeded 3 following four successive wins in the group stages. Scotland (2), featuring Corstorphine’s Colin McAlpine, made it through also after a 3-2 win over Egypt but enter a play-off round against Belgium for the chance to meet Wales (2) in the quarter-finals.

McGillivray is also through to the last-64 stage of the 6-Reds tournament.
