Edinburgh’s Ross Vallance lost out in a nail-biting final-frame decider with Chris Totten in the final of the Scottish Main Tour Snooker Event 3 at the Locarno Snooker Club.
After the first eight frames were shared, Totten held his nerve to win the last for a 5-4 victory and his first Main Tour tournament victory.
There was also disappointment for Edinburgh’s Dean Young, who lost out in the final of the Scottish Junior Tour Event 3 to Calvin Gourlay, who remains unbeaten this season and well ahead at the top of the Scottish rankings. Young made Gourlay work hard before losing at 4-2 at the Red Trangle Snooker Club in Cumbernauld.
Meanwhile, the Capital’s professionals are back in action this weekend at the Gibralter Open. Ross Muir plays fellow Scot Graeme Dott, Scott Donaldson faces Anthony Hamilton while Michael Leslie will play the winner of Dominic Dale and Thailand’s Noppon Saengkham.
