GRANTON snooker player Craig MacGillivray’s hopes of World Seniors Championship success were dashed at the qualification stages in Wigan.

After a 2-0 victory over England’s Barry Stark in the opening round, MacGillivray faced Robert Milkins, world ranked 22. The Englishman scored a break of 59 in the opening frame before claiming the second to seal victory in the best-of-three contest. Milkins went on to secure one of the eight places on offer for the latter stages of the event at the end of January.
