Michael Leslie’s excellent run in snooker’s China Open ended at the last 32 stage yesterday when he lost 5-0 to in form former world champion, Welshman, Mark Williams in Beijing.
Leslie lost two close opening frames on the pink before Williams took control of the match with breaks of 80 and 76 to lead 4-0 at the interval.
He wrapped up the fifth frame with a run of 48.
There was also disappointment for Granton’s Craig MacGillivray at the quarter-final stage of the European Team Championships in Malta.
MacGillivray and Glasgow’s Paul McPhillips, were edged out 4-3 by Israel.
