Sofia so good for Scots team

European Under-21 Snooker Champion Michael Leslie continued his excellent form as he helped Scotland reach the quarter-final stage of the European Team Championship in Sofia, Bulgaria.

Scotland demolished Poland 9-1 in the last 16 and Bonnyrigg star Leslie’s 3-1 win over Adam Stefanow was, incredibly, his 15th win a row since arriving in Bulgaria last week.

However Leslie, Granton’s Craig MacGillivray and Perth’s Scott Donaldson, will need to be at their best as they cue up in an Auld Enemy Clash against a strong England team at 5pm this evening for a place in the semi-final.

Scotland started slowly in the groups stages with two defeats to Malta and Israel, however they finished the group in style with a 9-0 whitewash of Finland. Team Captain MacGillivray said: “Scott and I struggled at the beginning of the group stages whilst Michael has been flying after his win in the under-21s at the weekend.”
