Sneddon has a broken right collar bone and revealed: “I have also fractured a small bone in my right foot, the foot isn’t really a problem as I can hobble around on it and I’d be able to ride on it.

“My boot was almost ripped off in the crash and my arm is in a sling. I know we face Ipswich in the league at Armadale a week on Friday and that is my target date to come back, but I’m not going to do anything stupid.”

Many of the Monarchs racers were unhappy with the state of the Glasgow circuit and Sneddon added: “Normally I don’t mind the Glasgow track but on Sunday the surface was prepared terribly, the worst I’ve known it.”

Although Wright suffered no broken bones in the heat eight pile-up, he said: “I’m still very sore and have a painful shoulder.

“I’ve now had three bangs to the head in three weeks so I’ll be sitting this weekend out. I’ve come back too early from injuries before and made myself worse and I don’t want that to happen again.”

Monarchs will operate the rider-replacement facility for Sneddon but will have to use a National League guest for Wright in the Berwick matches.

However, Monarchs will be entitled to a Premier League stand-in at Scunthorpe as by then Wright will be sixth in their averages.
