Edinburgh Monarchs have been dealt a hammer blow with the news that Stevie Worrall will miss this weekend’s Premier League Grand Final against Somerset Rebels.

The English rider, who had missed Monarchs’ previous three meetings due to the imminent arrival of his first child, was involved in a nasty-looking crash last night riding for his National League club Cradley Heathens and after attending hospital to be checked out, X-rays have confirmed the 23-year-old has broken his wrist.

Worrall was involved in a first-bend incident with Coventry Storm’s Stefan Nielsen and will now be relying on his Capital team-mates to complete their treble-winning campaign without his services.
