Volleyball: City aim to be double trouble

City of Edinburgh volleyball club seek a double top when the Schelde Sports Scottish League resumes tomorrow.

In the men’s first division, City host reigning champions Glasgow Mets at Queensferry High knowing that a win will put them top of the table.

City of Edinburgh women, meanwhile, can also go top but would need neighbours Edinburgh Jets to do them a favour against Troon PA.

City women face NUVOC - a repeat of last weekend’s clash in the John Syer Trophy - and, if they can win in straight sets and Jets take a couple of sets off Troon, then they would go top.

Elsewhere in the men’s first division, bottom-of-the-table Jets travel west to face Troon PA, who have been the surprise package so far.

The Ayrshire side are one of only three teams unbeaten in the league - Mets and City of Edinburgh being the others -and will feel that a win over Jets would be a huge step towards avoiding the drop, even this early.
