Edinburgh Jets lost 3-1 to City of Glasgow Ragazzi in Carluke, but they look to be more resilient under new coach John Gaughan, the former Scotland internationalist.

In the women’s John Syer Trophy, City of Edinburgh dropped a set to NUVOC before coming through 25-19, 25-9, 23-25, 25-13.

Jo Haken posed City problems on occasion but the Scottish champions had too much power and won comfortably enough. Edinburgh Jets were too strong for North Lanarkshire, winning 25-16, 25-11, 25-18 on their home court.
