Volleyball: City women reach final

City of Edinburgh set up a revenge clash with Troon PA in the women’s Scottish Volleyball Cup final later this month after seeing off Second Division Dundee with a straight-sets 25-19, 25-16, 25-6 victory.

Troon PA, who beat Edinburgh in last year’s final, defeated North Lanarkshire 25-19, 25-23, 25-11 in the other semi-final. It was a good weekend for City of Edinburgh as their men’s team won their all-Capital clash with Edinburgh Jets 25-18, 21-25, 25-18, 25-20 to reach their Scottish Cup final. The cup is the one major honour that has so far eluded the team but they can put that right at the end of this month.

City of Edinburgh II also reached the final of the Thistle Bowl as they upstaged First Division Troon PA in their semi-final to win in four sets.

They will face South Ayrshire, who beat Edinburgh Jets II 25-18, 25-22, 23-25, 26-24 in a tight semi-final.
