Volleyball: Edinburgh out to keep treble alive

City of Edinburgh hope to take another step closer to their first Scottish volleyball treble this weekend.

After winning the men’s John Syer Trophy with a win over Kilmarnock Blaze back in December, Edinburgh face Bon Accord in their two-leg league play-off semi-final. The Capital side, who are into next month’s Scottish Cup final, travel to Aberdeen for the first leg tomorrow with the return leg at Queensferry High on Sunday.

If all goes to plan for Edinburgh, they will face the winners of the other semi-final between Glasgow Mets and Kilmarnock Blaze for the title.

Edinburgh II have already beaten the Ayrshire side in the semi-finals of the Thistle Bowl and will be looking to repeat that success and have two teams in the top division for the first time in their history.

City of Edinburgh women are also in play-off action and meet Edinburgh Jets twice this weekend in their semi-finals. The winners face either Troon PA or Su Ragazzi for the title.
