Volleyball: Relentless City of Edinburgh make light of injury woes

City of EDINBURGH moved a step closer to another volleyball final in the men’s John Syer Trophy as they beat Dundee in straight sets 25-21 25-16 25-9.

It leaves their injury-hit team top of their pool and on course for a final showdown with Kilmarnock Blaze, who are unbeaten in the other pool. Despite letting a 12-5 lead evaporate in the first set, Edinburgh were never seriously troubled, but Dundee made too many service errors to mount a
serious challenge.

Edinburgh Jets lost 17-25 17-25 25-18 23-25 at Glasgow Mets in the other section and Mets now face a winner-takes-all clash with Kilmarnock.
