Watsonians face Grange as Masterton Trophy begins

The Murgitroyd Masterton Trophy gets underway tonight when holders Watsonians travel to Stockbridge to take on Mazars Grange.

Watsonians came out on top against Edinburgh in the final of the Twenty20 event last summer, but have been handed a tough first-round tie against the 2013 and 2014 winners.

Baillie Gifford ESCA Championship sides Marchmont and Stuart&Stuart Penicuik also meet tonight at Cavalry Park.

The event continues tomorrow evening when SMRH and Edinburgh South clash at Inverleith.

On Thursday, there is a re-match between Carlton and Heriot’s at Grange Loan. They met in the top flight on Saturday with Carlton winning.
